random stuff

I just woke up. Slept for twelve hours. The past five weeks were tedious weeks for me. I had to deal with new sorts of pressure.  Being the point person for the ID celebration was really tiring but I learned a lot of lessons from it. In our meeting last week, most of my colleagues gave positive comments about it.

Looking back at the success of that celebration, I feel that it became a success because our department worked together. Everyone was there in front during the program. Everyone was willing to lend a hand. Everyone had the initiative to check on whatever needs to be checked.

Sir Jay and Franz checked the sound system from the back and if not for them the entire message of the program would have not been delivered to the students. Ma’am Estela and Aaron were very effective hosts. They were a good match. Ma’am Bev and Jo played the role of great hosts to our guest, Mr. Gabe Mercado. Sandy, even if he’s still a bit sick, came to witness the event and to offer moral support. Tin was always there to check on us, reminding us of the little but important things in the program – time element, video cues, etc. Poch handled pressure well especially as the overall point person for the technicals.  KC (even if I know he’s still tired then perhaps from work) arrived early and helped us in his own little way. He was the one who served as Gabe’s guide during his talk, watching closely and serving as the floor director of Gabe.

I felt that my department was one solid group again. Honestly, I did not know what happened to my department in the past. I don’t intend to find out anymore. I have no right to probe. I believe whatever problems then must be left with those who were really involved in it. However, right now, my department’s beginning to work together again. Given our differences, the teamwork I long to have in the group where I want to belong is beginning to come out again. I am proud of my department. Renaissance indeed!

SEALS managed to have more than 40 applicants this year! Sooo proud of the new set of officers.  They’re very driven! If last year the org tried to check and go back to the basics so as to iron things out for SEALS this year the org is indeed ready to implement a better set of programs and projects. It helped that JJ and Gerard are also part of the Sanggu-HS. Ger did well last year. Barce and Wacky, this year’s heads, were a great match! I am in fact very excited for the org. Hope all the plans and projects discussed last Saturday will materiailze this year.
