It’s a very neat site which can help one create a site that’s suitable for people like me. I hardly understand computer programming or website development so wordpress indeed is a blessing.

My first project: create a wordpress account for AP. Why do I want to do this? I have noticed that there are hardly any good sites for AP (in the Philippines)…and right now it is imperative that we start one. My primary purpose is to provide our students and my co-teachers in my department a venue online where we can consolidate the references we consult online in deepening our discussions for our AP classes. My second purpose is to allow the site to be a reference site for fellow Social Studies teachers in the Philippines. Perhaps later on (because the site represents the three major areas we teach – Philippine History and Society, Asian History and Society, and World History and Society – then the site can also be an alternative reference site for Social Studies teachers in Asia and in the West.

I do hope I will succeed in this project. This is something I really want to do…and it is something I love doing for my department. Plus, it is fun discovering new things as I create the site.

I believe that after being away for a year (and after my experience of teaching one school-year for an international school) doing this project for my department is also my means of expressing gratitude to my former boss, Sir Jay, and to this department, for accepting me again as part of the team and for the opportunity to work and grow as a teacher and as a person. It is in this department that I have finally realized what I want to do with the rest of my career life…and that is, to teach, to be one of the movers that our society needs now…a mover who is actively responding to the current changes and challenges of globalization and of the different challenges that will still be coming our way.
